Sitka Spruce Tone Wood from Kodiak

On the Morning of Wednesday, September 3rd 2014, just before my afternoon return flight to MSP, I was fortunate to source a 39" diameter Sitka log. Located just three driveways uphill from where I was staying. Then with the good work of Roy, Red & Cousin Paul we:

  1. Cut a 28" long Section
  2. Rolled it Downhill to the House
  3. Scored then Split it into Quarters
  4. Split one of the Quarters in Half for Two Eights
  5. Shipped the Two 75 lbs. Eighths as checked baggage on Alaska Air

Look for this traditional tone wood on next year's tops. The other Three Quarters are still sittin' in Red's driveway. I expect more adventures will result when retrieving them. Cheers.

Family Sunday Afternoon:Sound Test

Cousin Jeff was in town, February 21, 2016, and stopped by with Uncle Wally for afternoon coffee. All four of the Cubist Guitars where strung and "settling-in" before final setup & finishing. What better time to debut four unique guitar voices. My family is an amiable bunch. Thanks for documenting the event, Jeff!
